The 2nd thematic school 2018 of the LabEx CEBA will be on DNA metabarcoding and will take place from October 4th to 11th in French Guiana. Candidates are expected to apply by the 3rd of August 2018.
Environmental DNA (eDNA) is an emerging method and is a non-invasive alternative to traditional methods. It implies the detection and amplification of genetic traces present in the sample taken. The analysis of the sequences obtained subsequently allows the identification of the organisms present in the study site.
The proposed thematic school is opened to all individuals and will be held from the 4th to the 11th of October at the Nouragues Scientific Station in French Guiana. Lectures will be given in english and places are limited to 16 candidates. Six lecturers will cover different aspects of DNA metabarcoding.
To participate, interested applicants should address a curriculum vitae and a motivation letter to firstname.lastname@example.org before August 3rd 2018. Your letter should indicate how your research will benefit from DNA metabarcoding and you are hoping to learn from this school. AS part of the course, each participant will have to give a flash talk (5 minutes) about their research and how it is related to DNA metabarcoding.
