Article to notice: researchers identifiy the origin of mammal diversity in the tropics

Why would there be more species in the tropics?
A recent study published on January 28, 2014 in the scientific review PLOS Biology analyzes the existing mammal species and reveals a double mechanism: the speed with which mammals are created is greater, and the speed with which they die is smaller, in the tropics than is the temperate regions.
