From 2012, November 5th to 15th a thematic school is held in Hai Phong City, in the north of Vietnam, on the theme “Biodiversity in tropical areas, from molecules to ecosystems”.
This event is co-organized by the VAST (Vietnam Academy of Science and Technology) and the CNRS (French National Center for Scientific Research).
The Mivegec team, that works on infectious diseases and vectors and that is member of the CEBA, takes part through Anne-Laure Bañuls who is one of the lecturers. Her research themes are population biology, molecular epidemiology, parasitology and evolutionary genetics.
Claude Grison, chemistry professor and research within the Center of Functional and Evolutionary Ecology (CEFE) in Montpellier, is also one of the lecturers. Claude Grison is one of the 6 members of the Scientific Advisory Board (SAB) of the CEBA, which is composed of international experts.
The proposed topics are the following:
1. Tropical Biology and Biodiversity
2. Ecology of Biotic Interactions
3. Chemical ecology and Biodiversity
4. Marine Biology and marine resources
5. Ecological Dynamics and Remote Sensing
6. Ecological engineering and Phytoremediation
7. Health ecology
8. Bio-cultural Interactions in tropical ecosystems
9. Biodiversity and Conservation Biology in tropical ecosystems
